A place to grow ... a poem about the Mackay Mental Health Hub
Life had become so draining…
With covid 19 raining
Isolation and depression,
In a world of disconnection.
I followed a rainbow, not to the pub…
But to the Mackay Mental Health Hub,
A place where I could just be myself,
And rediscover my own inner wealth.
Social connection, and new friends to find,
New ways to grow, and improve my mind.
Games to stimulate my old gray matter,
So I won’t become Wonderland’s Mad Hatter.
The Hub took a place that had become empty,
And replaced it with a land of plenty.
Where depression became a thing of the past,
And strength of character something to last.
A place to leave the world behind,
And dedicate unto my mind,
To understand what I think I know,
To eternally begin to grow.
