Embracing audits as a path to continuous improvement

25 February 2025

At heart of selectability’s work lies a commitment to delivering quality care that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of our recipients of care.

As they grow and take on new services, like child and family care, and aged care, one thing is clear: they’re not just aiming for compliance, but for excellence in everything they do. The accreditation process plays a crucial role in ensuring they align with each standard.

selectability Chief Operating Officer, Aaron Farrell, said as selectability expands, it’s not just about adding more services or growing their reach – they’re focused on integrating quality practices that enhance care at every level.

“Many organisations view accreditation as primarily a matter of compliance. It’s much more than a box to tick—it’s a valuable tool for continuous improvement,’ said Aaron.

“Instead of meeting minimum requirements, we are embedding quality frameworks into our everyday practices.”

Accreditation processes help selectability refine its operations, assess their effectiveness, and identify areas for growth.

They supports the organisation’s journey to ensure that every service they offer meets the highest standards.

“This means that quality isn’t something we check off a list—it becomes part of our daily operations, something each of us does without even thinking.”

As the organsition shifts its mindset, they’re creating a culture where quality practices are seamless and intuitive.

“Everyone, from leadership to frontline staff, contributes to ensuring that our care remains  safe, connected , and person-centred.

“Quality isn’t an extra task—it’s part of how we work.”

selectability will undergo the Human Services Quality Framework accreditation process in late March 2025.

“Accreditation isn’t just about maintaining standards; it’s about pushing ourselves to get better.

“Each time we undergo an accreditation process, we reflect on our practices, identify opportunities to improve, and refine our approach to care.

“This cycle of improvement allows us to grow in a way that’s sustainable and focused on what really matters—delivering high-quality care in a safe, supportive environment.”
