Getting through the festive season

Getting through the festive season

12 December 2024

For many, the festive season brings joy, connection, and a chance to unwind.

For others, it can be a challenging time, from feeling overwhelmed to navigating difficult emotions, relationship stress, bereavement or just trying to keep up with the cost of living.

To help you care for yourself this holiday season, selectability has simple yet meaningful self-care tips as well as some events happening in your region:

There are plenty of ways to connect with others where you can meet new people and share in festive experiences, whether it be virtually or in person.

This could be through online meetings or phone calls with friends and family or attending events in your area where you can connect with likeminded people.

The holidays can be a tough time and sharing those experiences with others can help with a sense of belonging.

Much like our recent event in Ingham, with Clubhouse members recently participating in the inaugural Hinchinbrook late night shopping event.

This occasion provided an excellent opportunity to showcase our Clubhouse, engage with the local community, and highlight the services we offer at selectability.

Both members and staff volunteered their time, lighting up the barbeque and offering a $1 donation sausage sizzle!

selectability is hosting a range of events over the next few weeks across our footprint! Here is a list of a few activities to help local communities connect. (Note: the way the events are being delivered will vary between locations, so it is best to get in contact with your local team for more information:
