Meet the team: Taylor-Anne Green
Meet Taylor-Anne! She has worked for selectability for the last 3.5 years and has recently taken on the role of facilitator coach for our growing Carer Gateway team.
selectability is a consortium partner with Wellways, who deliver many services for the Carer Gateway Program – including coaching, counselling, group sessions, respite and some financial packages across our footprint, within regional Queensland.
Who better than to join such a devoted team than the ever-passionate Taylor – Anne! She regularly supports carers to make meaningful changes in their lives by increasing their capacity for self-care, so they can achieve a more sustainable caring role.
“In the growth of the Carer Gateway space, I will work alongside our coaches to support in delivering our other core services such as our 'In Person Peer Support' groups for carers in managing concerns and ideas to address these as a group, as well as promote social connectivity for our carers,” said Taylor-Anne.
The South Brisbane-born swapped bright lights for the humid weather and regional vibe of Townsville in 2020, where selectability satisfied the desire for serving and working with people.
Holding previous roles as a lifestyle support worker, consumer care officer, and quality and compliance officer, Taylor-Anne’s knowledge of the wellbeing space is quite extensive.
he best part of my job is easily the people that I have the absolute privilege to support.
“Finding someone who may not have had the opportunity to be supported before, or who might not have known they could access such services, is such a win.
“Encouraging someone towards their greater potential and providing them with tools to build their capacity has been the most rewarding aspect of all the roles I've had with selectability.
A common theme across the Carer Gateway team, the expansion of the program is complemented by unwavering passion for high quality care, making Taylor – Anne a more than worthy asset.
“I have been personally touched by losing someone loved to suicide.
“Watching the ripple effect that he had was something that created a shift within me.
“From this tragedy, it changed my mind set and had me wanting to advocate where I could for people's mental health in any capacity I could.
“Living with loved ones with mental health concerns and working in this space also helped me realise my own lived experience and in doing so, applying what knowledge I can offer from my perspective.
“Being able to relate to carers in these circumstances from having a lived experience I believe to be more authentic and appreciated by the carers.”
There can be little doubt that throughout her various roles with selectability and her lived experience, Taylor Anne’s dedication to role demonstrates selectability's values and purpose.
In fact, in the tapestry of selectability values, Taylor-Anne’s presence shines as a testament to the profound impact one individual can make in the lives of others and is a strong foundation for Carer Gateway’s campaign to support the wellbeing of carers across regional Queensland.
