Meet the team: Anna Powell

Meet Anna – a team leader in Ingham, who has been working in the region for more than a year, most recently on our child safety program.

Previously, Anna oversaw the delivery of programs and services that support the wellbeing of our consumers, such as the Clubhouse program. 

In her new role Anna is responsible for leading a team of youth workers to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in our care.  

“I love the challenges I face in my job each day,” Anna said. 

“Working in the child safety space definitely has those challenges, but it is so rewarding at the same time.  

selectability has been delivering high-quality child safety services across regional Queensland since 2020, ensuring vulnerable young people in our care have the support in place to meet their developmental needs. 

In collaboration with government agencies, selectability is working to increase our capacity so that we can deliver these vital services to more children across our footprint. 

Part of Anna’s role is overseeing the care for two young people, while focusing on expanding the program in the Ingham region.  

A vital undertaking that is only matched by the passion the Anna has for her job, both through child safety and NDIS service delivery.  

“I love what I do, it is something that means a lot to me, and to be able to do it in the community I grew up in just makes it more special to me.  

“I believe it is an important service for rural communities as I feel as though being rural makes it quite easy to fall through the gaps … and therefore easier to become socially isolated.  

“Access to services is a major barrier for many, so a service like selectability in a community like Ingham gives hope and support to those who have never had it previously.”
