Meet the team: Crystal Webster
Meet Crystal - Quality & Innovation Officer.
She's part of the Regions team, navigating a new role that combines project work with quality and innovation activities.
This role supports Ryan Wiggins (General Manager – Regions) and the Regions' leadership team.
A typical day involves planning and managing projects to improve selectability’s regional operations, providing training to regions' staff and general advice on how to accomplish what they need to do within selectability’s processes.
Crystal said she wears many hats within this role; covering various positions when needed, management duties, reporting, and providing further support in the general manager’s absence.
“I love working within the regions team, the drive and passion in my team mates is inspiring,” she said.
Crystal joined selectability in 2019 as a Customer Service Officer. She moved to regions as an HR Administrator, remaining in this role until she went on maternity leave to have her second son.
She was then given the opportunity to explore her role, focusing on more project orientated work.
“I love being able to be creative in my work and see my ideas come to life.”
“Knowing that my work goes towards helping the employees on the ground improve the lives of our most vulnerable is so rewarding.
“The feedback I receive from the Regions leadership team helps me know I’m working in the right direction”
Originally from the San Francisco Bay area, Crystal made the big move here in 2010. Her work background includes retail, compliance, sales, real estate and customer service management.
It was an internship at a boys group home that really sparked her interest in social work. She now has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, specialising in child development.
“I would love to see where this journey leads me. I’m excited to take on a management role and to grow with in it.
“The opportunities afforded to us for advancement and professional development are great incentives too.”
Crystal’s other great passions are her children and her needlework. Her boys never fail to put a smile on her face with their humour and antics and creativity. On weekends, she loves spending time tatting (lace making), crocheting, or taking the kids on outings.
