Meet the team: Jayney Caruso
Meet Jayney! She is our newest support coordinator/recovery coach for the Ingham region.
As a part of her role, Jayney regularly engages with consumers to ensure they are making the most out of their NDIS plans and guides them through their recovery journey.
She also regularly engages with each consumer’s key stakeholders, including government agencies, community, and clinical providers to ensure supports and services are leveraged, not duplicated.
Jayney's love for her new role is only amplified by a strong and determined team in Ingham.
“Although I have only been with selectability for a short time, I have loved working alongside a supportive team who are so easy to get along with,” said Jayney.
“It is my responsibility to build capacity while empowering consumers to make their own choices as to how they want to lead their lives … I really enjoy spending time with and supporting our consumers.
Born and raised in Ingham, Jayney worked predominantly in the hospitality industry throughout high school, before discovering her passion for helping others.
After completing her Certificate III in Community Services and a traineeship in Community Work, Jayney’s passions eventually became her day-to-day, after joining selectability last month.
Local support coordinators/recovery coaches like Jayney are vital to delivering on selectability’s commitment to improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland.
And yet, despite her burning passion for helping locals in the community she grew up in, Jayney still maintains a healthy work-life balance.
“I love spending my leisure time reading books and listening to music and podcasts with my cats, as well as spending quality time with my partner and family.”
Welcome to the team Jayney!
