Meet the team: Lindsay Farley
Meet Lindsay, selectability’s Clinical Advisor – it’s a diverse role that supports best practice service delivery through clinical advice, education and ensuring that selectability’s services are evidence-based and supported by strong clinical governance.
From the early days of working in mental health in Tasmania’s state psychiatric hospital and training as a registered psychiatric nurse, Lindsay has enjoyed working in executive nursing and non-nursing roles in Victoria and Queensland.
He joined selectability in January this year where he works with the executive team and employees to increase understanding of mental health and promote the use of person-centred care across the organisation.
“It is a very rewarding role as I have the opportunity to assist employees at all level grow and develop,” said Lindsay.
“Working one-on-one with consumers can be very challenging, particularly if their needs are complex.
“Ensuring our Lifestyle Support Workers have access to the tools and resources to help build resilience and develop skills to manage a range of situations is very important.”
Lindsay regularly delivers sessions in selectability’s Strategic Communications Forum around self-care, resilience building and tips for effectively working with our consumers.
