Meet the Team: Matt Sealy
Meet Matt – Our newest regional manager for our aged care service in the Lower Gulf!
As part of our commitment to improving the lives of regional Queenslanders, late last year selectability took over management responsibility of three First Nations residential aged care facilities: Ngooderi House, Kukatja Place, and Kuba Natha Hostel, in the Lower Gulf.
As part of this delivery of service, Matt is one of four regional managers appointed to oversee the operations of the facilities.
“I will be the rotational manager for the Lower Gulf, moving between Doomadgee, Normanton, and Mornington Island, ensuring that each facility has a manager on site at all times.” said Matt.
Originally from Tasmania, Matt moved to Queensland in 2006.
“We have five children aged from 24 to 20, with the youngest being twins. Our eldest daughter is getting married next August!
Matt has worked in aged care since 2008, holding various roles including operational manager, regional manager, and facility manager.
“I’ve worked mainly in community services, but I also managed the HIV program in Queensland,” said Matt.
When asked what he’s looking forward to in his role with selectability, Matt said, “The people and support systems.”
“I’m excited to be part of each community, it is very important for me.”
Matt explained that taking this role was the perfect opportunity for a new chapter in his life.
“All the children have left home, and my wife works away a lot as well, so it is the perfect opportunity to do something new.”
For those considering a career in the sector, Matt offers simple but valuable advice:
“Do not hesitate to apply.”
Welcome to the team, Matt! Your experience and dedication will undoubtedly make a difference in the Lower Gulf.
