Meet the team: Mel McInerney
Meet Mel, our support coordinator for Palm Island. Mel has been with selectability for more than five years and has seen many changes in that time.
Before joining the Regions team Mel worked as a lifestyle support worker and intake officer in Townsville so it’s fair to say she has an excellent understanding of our processes, programs and services.
As support coordinator for Palm Island Mel works with individuals to help them understand the NDIS, the services available to help them achieve their goals and live more independently.
“I love making a difference in people's lives and it is rewarding watching people achieve their goals that you supported them to accomplish,” said Mel.
“Palm Island Is a very diverse community and I enjoy working with other service providers to get the best outcome for our consumers.
“As the only service of its kind on Palm Island, we work hard to reduce stigma and misunderstanding around disabilities and improve the social and emotional wellbeing of the community."
