Meet the team: Rebecca Sheeley
Meet Rebecca – she has recently taken on the role of Mental Health Hub Coordinator in Mackay and has a strong devotion to community wellbeing.
As a part of her role, Rebecca oversees the daily operations of the Mental Health Hub, and plays a crucial part in the development of programs that focus on education, and social connections which build resilience for our consumers.
With a strong background in nursing and community care, Rebecca prides herself on being dedicated, professional and friendly.
“I love the opportunity to meet and work with a variety of people from our community while supporting them to engage in social interactions and activities and helping them connect with the community to achieve mental wellness,” Rebecca said.
Rebecca has worked for selectability for the last 12 months, and previously held the role of Peer Support Worker in the Sarina region, before selectability’s career progression pathway led her to the Mackay Mental Health Hub coordinator.
“I was drawn to selectability because of their values duplicate my own.
“I truly care about every one of our consumers and want to see them thrive.
“I love guiding consumers to make every moment a priority for their mental wellbeing.
Originally from NSW, Rebecca moved to Mackay four years ago where she discovered her passion for mental wellbeing support.
Rebecca’s dedication to her job makes her a great asset to selectability in Mackay, but maintaining a healthy work-life balance is the key to her passion, and her love for her family give her the motivation to help others.
“My family and Blue American Staffy are my everything in life. I love to camp and explore this country.
“Keeping busy is my favourite thing to do no matter what it is.
“Whether it be crafting, gardening, working, as long as I am moving!"
