Meet the team: Samantha Strogusz

For Samantha Strogusz, the journey to Townsville was one of adventure, change, and new beginnings.

Originally from Brisbane, Samantha and her family decided to pack up and head north, drawn by the opportunity to experience life together in a new place.

“My husband is from Townsville, so we thought—why not experience it as a family?” Samantha said.

Now an administration officer in selectability’s aged care team, Samantha brings more than a decade of experience, with a background spanning surveying, construction, engineering, event management, and animal welfare.

In her role, Samantha supports the team to provide high-quality aged care services in the Lower Gulf.

These duties include supporting frontline workers with FIFO and travel arrangements to and from site and responding to the ranging volume of phone calls and enquiries.

“I’m very fortunate to work with a supportive team.  

“Everyone is always there for each other, and I look forward to broadening my skills even further.”

Since starting with selectability, Samantha has embraced the fast-paced nature of the role, where no two days are ever the same.

“You have to be willing to adjust when things change—whether it’s flights, deadlines, or last-minute requests.

“But that’s part of what keeps the job exciting.”

selectability’s commitment to empowering recipients and ensuring that everyone has access to high quality support, initially drew Samantha to the role.

“We allow people to be who they are, where they want to be, and how they want to get there.

 “We’re just here to help.”

Outside of work, Samantha and her family are avid campers, making the most of every opportunity to explore the great outdoors.

“We’re somewhere between glamping and bush camping.

“Our cars are fully set up for off-grid adventures—with power, water, a coffee machine, and even an air fryer!”

With her practical approach, adaptability, and strong sense of teamwork, Samantha has quickly become an integral part of the selectability aged care team—helping to support a service that makes a real difference in the lives of recipients.
