Meet the team: Shanelle Poppi

20 March 2023

Introducing Shanelle, she's one of our practice supervisors supporting frontline workers across selectability's diverse footprint.

For over 18 years Shanelle has been working across both public/private and government/non-government sectors practicing as a mental health clinician.

Shanelle spent a large part of that time working with children and adolescents, specialising in residential care interventions, and for the last ten years has been working as a clinical director for a not-for-profit organisation.

Joining selectability’s growing clinical team in the relatively new position of Practice Supervisor Shanelle’s role involves engaging with staff to enhance their person-centred approach with consumers while also providing a safe space for staff to explore and reflect on any challenging aspects of their daily work.

“More simply, practice supervisors offer group, individual and debriefing sessions for all employees as a mechanism to expand their skills when working with consumers," said Shanelle.

“Practice supervision helps employees develop the tools and strategies to overcome challenges.

“selectability is really leading the way in establishing structured governance around the delivery of community-based psychosocial supports.

“A key focus is making sure we have processes and procedures in place that support great service deliver and ensure the safety of our employees and consumers.”
