Meet Tahlia – she has lived in the Burdekin region for the last year and has been working with selectability as team leader for our child and family care program for 6 months.

Dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people in the Burdekin region, Tahlia leads a team that provides high quality, essential support to to those in need,

Before joining selectability, she had a diverse career background—managing a restaurant and working as a project manager for a construction company.

However, her passion for supporting youth and promoting mental health awareness eventually led her to selectability.

Tahlia started at selectability as a youth worker, later becoming a team leader for service delivery before stepping into her current leadership role, taking full advantage of the organisation’s career progression pathway

“My favourite thing about working for selectability is the ability to support those in need, specifically our young people,” she said.

“Providing mental health awareness is a passion of mine, and I’m grateful to be able to facilitate that through my work.”

For those considering a role in the sector, her advice is simple: “Apply! selectability is an exceptional organisation to work for, with endless opportunities for career progression.”

Outside of work, Tahlia enjoys spending time at the beach and reading a good book.

Tahlia is a part of a strong and dedicated team of Burdekin locals, across a range of services. You can find out more about these services here
