Medium term accommodation
The NDIS funds medium term accommodation (MTA) so you have somewhere to live if you can't move into your long term home because your supports aren't ready.
To be eligible, you must have a home you’ll move into and you need somewhere else to live in the medium-term.
For example, you might need MTA while you wait for your home modifications to be completed. Or you’ve already secured a long term home, such as specialist disability accommodation, but you’re waiting for another person to move out before you can move in.
The NDIS usually funds MTA as a one-off support for up to 90 days. This is because you probably won’t need medium term accommodation again once you move to your long term home.
