Role profile: Lifestyle Support Worker
At selectability Lifestyle Support Workers (LSW) provide one-on-one support to our consumers in their homes and communities. The role supports our consumers to build capacity with everyday tasks to help them achieve their goals and live their best lives. Being an LSW offers you the chance to not only make a difference to people’s lives but to also give back to your community.
We asked a group of our LSWs what they like best about their role and here's what they said.
- Variety
No two days are the same just as no two consumers are the same. Every day is as unique as those you are supporting, you may work multiple shifts with numerous consumers. - Sense of purpose
While it can be challenging at times, being a Lifestyle Support Worker is an extremely rewarding job. You will work with consumers to support them to achieve their goals which assists them to live their best life. - Career pathway and progression
At selectability internal career pathways and progressions are available to all staff. Many options exist for training and professional development in the sector. As you progress through the internal pathways you will also increase your pay rate as you go – giving you incentive for career growth. - Flexibility and work-life balance
LSWs have flexible working hours and you can work around your individual availability. - No experience needed
To become an LSW with selectability no formal experience/training is necessary – you learn on the job. - Access to discounted training
