selectability is teaming up with ultra-cyclist and 2022 RAAM solo winner, Allan Jefferson, to complete this year’s Ravenswood Gran Fondo (big ride) in an effort to raise funds and awareness for mental health.
The annual event, generally sees more than 150 locals come together for the ride that shines a spotlight on mental health while testing the endurance of participants.
Chief Operating Officer Aaron Farrell said it was the first time ‘Team selectability’ had entered the ride and they were looking forward to joining forces with Allan Jefferson to support Team Jefferson’s 2024 RAAM solo attempt and raise awareness for mental health.
Team selectability, donned head to toe in teal-coloured, branded lycra, has signed up to ride the 50km course next Saturday.
The start line is at the Imperial Hotel in Ravenswood, riders ride out along Burdekin Dam Road to the 25 km turnaround point and ride back to Ravenswood.
The more elite cyclists, like Alan, have options to ride the 163km or 100km ride across undulating terrain, navigating tough obstacles including 34 cattle grids.
The partnership draws on selectability’s commitment to improving the mental wellbeing of regional Queenslanders through its BikeSheds and Team Jefferson’s passion for riding and mental health.
