Welcome Colin McPherson, new GM Mackay
selectability welcomes Colin McPherson to its executive team
selectability has welcomed a fresh face to its management team with the recent appointment of Colin McPherson as the Mackay region’s new general manager.
Colin replaces Chris Attard in the position.
selectability CEO, Debra Burden said she was delighted to welcome Mr McPherson to the executive team which now had a strong mix of skills to successfully drive the organisation’s strategic directions across regional Queensland.
“We are committed to improving the mental wellbeing of regional Queenslanders and Colin’s skills, knowledge and expertise complements those of the existing executive team,” said Ms Burden.
“Colin is well known across Mackay with an established network and connection to his community.
“His commitment to bettering the community has spanned over 30 years with his extensive experience and industry expertise leading him to chair numerous not-for-profit organisations.
“Colin’s leadership philosophy aligns closely to selectability’s values of accountability, commitment, compassion, innovation, integrity, positivity and respect.”
Mr McPherson said he was looking forward to making a positive impact to the mental wellbeing of those living across the region and contributing to suicide prevention.
“selectability is well-known in Mackay for its range of mental wellbeing and suicide prevention programs and services,” said Mr McPherson.
“I am looking forward to working with the team and local leaders to continue supporting the diverse needs of individuals and groups across the community.
“The selectability management team is dedicated and supportive and the employees are highly capable and competent all with a passion for delivering selectability’s purpose.”
Colin has an in-depth knowledge of the NDIS, and a broad range of experience including indigenous youth, child protection and youth justice, the disability sector, vocational education and training and community engagement.
